CGMP Gene Therapy Manufacturing Facility Design

CGMP Gene Therapy Manufacturing Facility Design

Brammer Bio is a viral vector contract development and manufacturing organization for cell and gene therapy innovators. To support its focus on commercial vector manufacturing, Brammer recently acquired a 66,000-square-foot biologics manufacturing facility that was previously licensed by regulatory authorities to manufacture four commercial biological products. Brammer renovated the facility for commercial launch of viral vector products.

CRB provided architecture,  process engineering and complete mechanical, electrical and plumbing design for this viral vector facility capable of manufacturing up to 2,000-liter scale batches. This highly fast-tracked project utilized modular clean-room wall systems and included significant plant and process utility upgrades.

A detailed 3-D model was developed to allow coordination of above-ceiling and production space layouts. During the basis of design phase, CRB developed long-lead early packages for demolition and under-slab drainage. To meet the aggressive schedule, CRB issued an accelerated permit package that achieved town approval without schedule impact.
