Dave DiProspero, Senior Fellow of Pharmaceutical Process, was featured in Pharmaceutical Technology Europe weighing in on the importance of quality and safety within the pharmaceutical industry. DiProspero narrows in on the current good manufacturing practices within oral solid dose (OSD) forms.

OSD forms have several advantages but must follow regulatory guidance and specifications within the industry. Among these advantages is the convenience to manufacture these products, ease of administration and cost-effectiveness. Unlike other areas of manufacturing, OSD regulatory guidance is relatively current with no major changes expected. Regulatory authorities are focusing heavily on future innovative approaches like continuous manufacturing as a new processing platform as well as improved process containment and closed systems.
