ONEsolution services to support regenerative medicine growth

ACell Inc. is a leading regenerative medicine company focused on the development, manufacture and commercialization of medical devices for wound management and surgical soft tissue repair. Due to recent growth, ACell retained CRB to help with an expansion project at its corporate headquarters. ACell was at capacity in its existing building, so it leased an adjacent building to support future growth and provide decompression.

CRB provided ONEsolution™ (design-build) services to relocate and expand ACell’s distribution center. We also repurposed the vacated area to increase ACell’s office space and research and development program.

With a tight project budget, our in-house pre-construction group helped establish a budget and implement cost-efficient strategies to design to that budget. Additionally, the planning of this project included provisions for a future 10,000-square-foot medical training facility.

Phase I of the project included relocating and expanding the product packaging and distribution operations to an adjacent building. This allowed our team to introduce new and contemporary interior design concepts for the relocated program. To enhance the occupant experience in this new space, we implemented open ceilings, glass offices and a layout to maximize daylight deep into the floor plan.

Phase II of the project reorganized the vacated 5,400-square-foot distribution space into an expanded office program and R&D lab space. Our design team added new windows in the existing façade to bring more natural light into the occupied spaces. We further enhanced the space by creating a glass conference room to provide a focal point and promote collaboration.
