Pet Food Facility Consolidation and Expansion ONEsolution

WellPet and Sojos retained CRB for a ONEsolution™  project to combine two existing production facilities in Minneapolis and St. Paul into a single new pet food manufacturing facility in South St. Paul. Sojos was started in 1985 as a pet food company that championed the health benefits of raw feeding—creating freeze-dried raw complete pet food mixes. Sojos and WellPet, a leader in holistic pet food, partnered in 2016.

The new facility accommodated expanded production capabilities in a single location. CRB designed and constructed the project as a two-phase, 88,000-square-foot build-out in a new, unfinished warehouse building.

The design of the facility supported increased Current Good Manufacturing Practices within the pet food manufacturing process and the production and support areas.

The site encompasses raw materials receiving, freeze-dried pet food manufacturing, a bakery that produces meat treats, warehousing and final shipping activities. The site also includes a new office and employee areas.

CRB coordinated with an ammonia design-build contractor and a local interior architecture firm for the project.
