Early planning for specialty equipment keeps lab project on track

Our team provided lab planning and engineering design services for the 22,000 square-foot office, lab and chemical storage space on the 7^th floor of a 14-story tower.

The design encompasses various unique spaces requiring various rooms for proper segregation and safety. Along with HVAC environmental features, a low-humidity room was provided which required a specialized dehumidification unit and a prefabricated panel system. The design incorporated flexible casework systems with cleanroom-approved systems in specialty areas with product pass-throughs.

In order to meet the rigorous schedule, the design and construction teams engaged specialty equipment vendors early in the design process. By establishing the design parameters early, the manufacturer was able to design and fabricate the custom system to be installed shortly after occupancy. Weekly check-ins kept the project on track and facilitated the successful outcome.
