Roshni Dutton, PhD, PEng is a biopharmaceutical process expert with global experience in Asia, Australia, North America and Europe. She is a graduate in both biology and chemical engineering, with masters and doctoral degrees in bioprocess engineering from the University of Waterloo.

In her role at CRB, Dr. Dutton offers clients GMP design and compliance services. Specializing in early phase process engineering and process architecture over the past decade, Roshni takes delight in bringing client visions to life—from additions or renovations to whole plants or campuses. She is adept at GMP compliance assessments of designs and brings innovation to solving challenges. Her breadth of experience gives her a unique understanding of clients’ operational needs and styles.

“I especially enjoy laying out a process and its facility in a way that compliments my client’s style, while maintaining (c)GMP compliance. It’s all about envisioning how it will operate. It’s also fascinating to assess compliance and operational issues, and discover tweaks that will solve them.”

Over the last 25+ years, Roshni’s experience has spanned a variety of areas in the biopharmaceutical space. Her rich career history includes serving as the Director of Cell and Viral Process Development with Sanofi Pasteur, lead engineer at multiple design firms, adjunct professor at the University of Guelph, and principal of her own business. Her activities have included bioprocess design, optimization, scale-up and validation; facility design; biopharmaceutical research, development, and manufacture; technology assessment; technology transfers; teaching; and management. Roshni’s design experience spans the major biologics platforms, from single suites to entire plants and campuses.
