The ongoing University of Colorado Anschutz project is featured in the latest New Projects section of Lab Design News online.

Executed by Alicia Maurer, Kevin Haugh and the Science + Technology team in the Colorado office, this project established a unique partnership between the Fitzsimmons Redevelopment Authority and CU, with the university being the primary tenant of this technology incubator on the Anschutz campus. Additionally, there were teams from numerous design and CM firms working together to execute the project.

Bioscience 2 is a multi-use Greenfield facility for research and education. Slated for LEED-Gold certification, the building will function as a university- incubator hybrid. With lab space on all four floors, CRB performed detailed lab planning to optimize both teaching and research spaces.

The College of Engineering’s Dept. of Bioengineering will use the first floor. As the program evolves, the design maximizes flexibility in teaching lab spaces. University-affiliated companies will occupy the second floor of the building. These lab designs include cleanrooms, wet labs, cell culture labs, mass spectrometry, hematology, medical device prototyping and design labs.
