Dr. Hanselka to Provide an Overview of the New 2013 California Codes

Please join Dr. Hanselka at the ISPE San Francisco/Bay Area Chapter (ISPE) & Association for Facilities Engineering (AFE) half-day presentation Thursday, September 26th at the South San Francisco Conference Center, 255 South Airport Road, South San Francisco, CA 94080.

Major code changes have occurred in the adopted 2013 Building and Mechanical Codes, especially within the Fire Code organization. Dr. Hanselka will address these changes and resulting compliance in a half-day session on the new 2013 California Codes based on the International Building, Fire, Plumbing and Mechanical Codes. A special emphasis on the legal requirements of handling potent compounds will be included in the presentation.
Attendees will be provided a clear understanding of the many changes to the 2013 California specific codes and continuing education units will be issued.
About the Presenter:
Dr. Hanselka serves as CRB’s Director of Code Compliance. With 39 years of experience in hazardous material and fire code compliance, Dr. Hanselka provides his specialized knowledge and expertise to CRB’s domestic and international clients. Dr. Hanselka’s leadership skills are an invaluable asset in guiding CRB and the industry in the regulatory requirements of hazardous materials, toxic gases, fire protection and building codes.
Dr. Hanselka earned a Ph.D. degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Delaware, an M.S. from Stroud University, and a B.S. in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology. He has made enormous contributions to numerous jurisdictions and industries over the past four decades, currently serving as Consultant to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of Energy and the Department of Defense. He was a founding Member of the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter ISPE; an ASME Bioprocess Committee Member; Presidential appointee to the NFPA 1 National Fire Code Technical Committee. Dr. Hanselka holds several U.S. and International patents, and is an author and frequent lecturer on subjects of hazardous materials and ultra-pure systems.
