CRB Jumps 21 Spots on ENR’s Top 500 List
May 4, 2012
CRB celebrates an upgrade from number 154 to 133 on ENR’s Top 500 Design Firms List based on 2011 revenue growth. Each year, the Engineering News-Record provides their Top 500 Design Firms List, including domestic and international markets. 2011 results presented the first time in three years that the Top 500 experienced revenue growth – an overall increase of 6.6 percent from 2010. The group’s revenue grew from $79.82 billion in 2010 to $85.06 billion in 2011. CRB helped contribute to that rise in revenue, with a company increase of 16.16 percent revenue growth from 2010 to 2011.
As many engineering, architectural and construction companies struggled to stay profitable during the economic hardship of the past several years, proven growth for private firms in 2011 provides a positive glance into the future. While public sector results did not indicate as much promise, traditional private industries such as manufacturing, industrial process, telecommunications and the power market all showed a rise in revenue. Of the 458 design firms that submitted to ENR both in 2010 and in 2011, 288 of those showed a revenue increase, while 168 had lower revenue with 2 reporting little or no change to their revenue growth.
CRB continues to excel in the private sector and is exploring other marketable areas to expand its expertise both nationally and internationally. 2011 revenue for CRB included $15.2 million in international markets with overall revenue of $79.7 million
