Considerations for Multi-Product Facilities for ATMP Manufacturing
March 9, 2021 | 10:15 am – 11:00 am EST
Between newly developed products, strategic partnerships, and acquisitions in the Advanced Therapy Medicinal (ATMP) market, companies are racing to find or create capacity for plasmids, viral vectors, gene modified cell therapies, and fill finish products.
Owner companies and entrepreneurs are considering building multi-product or multi-modal ATMP facilities to meet this emerging demand. They are also looking at how to “future proof” their investment so that it works for next generation manufacturing processes.
In this presentation, CRB’s Emily Thompson will present with a case study with Bluebird Bio where we evaluate retrofitting an existing shell space to provide multi-product manufacturing in a phased manner. Cross contamination risks and designing for flexibility to accommodate evolving processes will be discussed.
Applying Lean Execution Tools on a Fast-Track Project
March 10, 2021 | 11:15 am – 12:00 pm EST
This presentation, given by CRB’s Shannon Chase, Megan Arnold and Daniela Gracey, will highlight how the use of multiple lean tools enabled a cultural transformation to deliver a fast-track vaccine manufacturing building renovation project. Last Planner SystemTM, Target Value Delivery, use of Trade Partners for design assist, and Takt planning were used throughout design and construction. The team will discuss how each lean tool was applied and transformed the culture from a traditional design-bid-build project to integrated delivery. Finally, lessons learned and plus/deltas will be shared.
