Senior Project Manager
Jeff Matis’ strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles allows him to guide clients through the complete project life cycle, with a focus on lowering costs, improving sustainability and increasing safety and quality.
Matis is a veteran project manager and process engineer with 40 years of diverse industrial experience. He applies his extensive knowledge of clean design principles and effective project management to client projects across a broad spectrum of food and beverage submarkets, including bakery and snacks, beverage, confectionery, nutritionals, pet food, cereals, sauces and more.
Matis’ four decades of experience spans across industries, including food and beverage, consumer products, biotech, pharmaceutical and general industrial. He has managed or participated in all phases of design and construction, from concept through construction and commissioning. His project responsibilities regularly involve direction and coordination of all engineering disciplines, integration of multiple team operations, and infield construction support.
Jeff served as project manager for a Mars Chocolate North America (MCNA) greenfield confectionery manufacturing facility project in Topeka, Kansas. The $270 million, 500,000 square foot facility was the first MCNA site built in North America. Working with MCNA, Jeff and the CRB team designed a state-of-the-art facility to meet sustainability goals and achieve LEED® Gold certification. The plant was honored as 2015 Plant of the Year by Food Engineering magazine.
